15th Annual World Fireknife Dance Championship

Join dozens of fire knife dance competitors as the Polynesian Cultural Center’s 15th annual Samoa Cultural Festival continues the exciting tradition of determining the world’s dance champion, and adds several a new category of competition, including:

Teine Toa o Samoa Fire Knife Competition (the Warrior Girls of Samoa — starting a new tradition, for the first time this year. | |
| Warrior’s Duet Fire Knife Competition — starting another new tradition, for the first time this year. | ||
| • May 17, Thursday 7:45 p.m., Hale Aloha |
World Fire Knife Dance Championship Competition senior preliminaries, with nine semi-finalists to be named at the end of the evening. | |
| • May 18, Friday 7:45 p.m., Hale Aloha |
World Fire Knife Dance Championship Competition Semi-finals, with three finalists to be named at the end of the evening. | |
| Pacific Junior Fire Knife Competition | ||
| Children’s Fire Knife Competition, with the winners of this and the Junior event announced at the end of evening. | ||
| • May 19, Saturday 9:00 a.m. |
High School Samoan Cultural Competitions, including oratory, traditional skills, songs and dances, with the winners named at the end of the event. | |
| • May 19, Saturday 6:00 & 8:00 p.m., Pacific Theater |
World Fire Knife Dance Championships Finals: The three finalists perform during intermission of two evening shows, with the results announced at the end of the second show. | |
